Sand Volleyball Outlasts Stetson, 3-2

SIESTA KEY, Fla. - The No. 9 Georgia State sand volleyball team outlasted Stetson Friday night, winning 3-2. All five matches went to three sets, a first in program history.

Georgia State improves to 13-4 on the season, winning five of its last six matches.

The Panthers came away with wins at the Nos. 2, 3 and 5 positions. At the No. 2 flight, Sara Olivova and Jansen Button defeated Savannah Byl and Cat Loston 21-23, 21-17, 15-13. At the No. 3 flight, Sarah Agnew and Katelyn Rawls defeated Rachel Ferrell and Julie Bassett 21-16, 19-21, 15-12. At the No. 5 flight, Delaney Rohan and Alexis Townsend defeated Tiffany Creamer and Kristin Lind 21-18, 16-21, 15-11.

At the No. 1 flight, Katie Madewell and Moriah Bellissimo lost to Mel Melville and Kaylee Anderson 18-21, 21-18, 15-10. At the No. 4 flight, Milani Pickering and Natalie Wilson fell to Moren Ryah and Jordann Dierdiercx in a marath match, 30-28, 19-21, 20-18. 

The Panthers are now 1-1 against Stetson this season, avenging a 3-2 loss on March 16.
