* Georgia State (6-1) lost 3-2 to No. 7 FIU and then won 3-2 against LSU at the North Florida Invitational.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Georgia State's sand volleyball team fell for the first time this season, losing a nail biter to No. 7 FIU. The Panthers (6-1) came back with a 3-2 win against LSU in their second match of the day at the North Florida Invitational in St. Augustine, Fla.
In the first match of the day, Georgia State was narrowly defeated by No. 7 FIU. GSU's No. 3 and 5 pairs won their respective matches, but Florida International took the top two spots as well as the No. 4 match to win 3-2. Both of Georgia State's top pairs won Set 2 to force third sets. For GSU's Natalie Wilson and Delaney Rohan, their loss at No. 4 was their first of the season after winning the first eight.
Georgia State got back in the win column in the second match, defeating LSU 3-2. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead with Delaney Rohan and Natalie Wilson's 21-7, 21-11 win at No. 4 and then a 2-0 lead on Jessica Fourspring and Nina Interwies' second victory of the day at No. 5. LSU took the No. 3 match to make things interesting, but Kate Rawls and Allie Elson clinched it, winning 21-14, 21-17 at the second spot. At No. 1, Sara Olivova and Jansen Button lost in three sets for the second straight match.
The Panthers have two more matches at the UNF Invitational. GSU faces FAU at 8:30 a.m. to kick off Sunday's action and then plays host North Florida at 10:30 a.m.
