* Georgia State (10-1) beat Arizona State 4-1 and Tulane 3-2 at the Gamecock Invitational Saturday in Columbia, S.C.
* Georgia State has won four straight but has a big matchup on Sunday in No. 4 Florida State.
* The Panthers return home for the Southeast Sand Slam on April 3 and 4.
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Georgia State's sand volleyball team pushed its winning streak to four Saturday with wins over Arizona State and Tulane at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, S.C.
In the first match of the day, Georgia State lost just one match, winning 4-1 over Arizona State. Milani Pickering and Majda Dostalova slid up to the No. 1 spot and recorded a three-set win. The duo bounced back after losing the first set to win 14-21, 21-16, 15-11. Georgia State won at No. 2 singles with Sara Olivova and Jansen Button in three sets as well. Kate Rawls and Nina Interwies won at No. 3 and Jessica Fourspring and Alexis Townsend took the No. 5 match, but GSU fell at the fourth spot.
Georgia State played a tighter match in the day's second contest, but emerged victorious over Tulane by a score of 3-2. GSU won at Nos. 2, 4 and 5 all in straight sets. It was a perfect 2-0 day for both Interwies/Rawls and Fourspring/Townsend.
Now at 10-1 on the season, the Panthers look to ride their momentum into a pair of matches on Sunday, including a meeting with No. 4 Florida State. Georgia State faces the Seminoles at 9:45 a.m. and then plays Carson-Newman at 4:45 p.m. The Panthers have another weekend on the road before hosting the Southeast Sand Slam at the GSU Sand Courts on April 3 and 4.
