Men's Tennis Ends Season with 4-3 Loss at No. 63 UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Georgia State's men's tennis team ended the season Sunday with a narrow defeat at No. 63 UNCW. The Panthers fell 4-3 to the Seahawks in the final match of the spring.

Georgia State dropped the top two doubles contests to fall behind 1-0 to start the match. At No. 3, Georgia State's Andrei Andrukhou and Jannis Koeke were locked in a tight 7-7 match when the Seahawks clinched. The Panthers lost 8-4 at No. 1 and 8-6 at No. 2.

In singles, the Panthers came close to pulling off the upset, but UNCW pulled out victories at Flights 6, 5 and then 1 to clinch the win. Zack Kennedy won in straight sets at No. 2 and Sofiane Chevallier did the same at No. 3. Andrukhou edged out UNCW's Zander Veys in Set 1, winning 7-6 (8-6). The freshman put his opponent away 6-3 in the second win to secure the third point for GSU.
