ATLANTA – No. 8 Georgia State moved to 14-2 on the season with a 4-1 win over UNCW and a 5-0 sweep against UL Monroe Saturday to wrap up a 4-0 weekend at home at the GSU Diggin' Duals.
"Today we honored our seniors and the foundation they've built for this program. We stepped onto the court with the intention to play for each other, our families and our university," head coach Beth Van Fleet said. "Each of our athletes contributed to the team's success this weekend and relished in the energy of playing at home."
Saturday marked the final home contests of the season and the Panthers recognized seven seniors prior to the last competition of the day. All seven seniors would go on to win their respective matches as the Panthers swept UL Monroe.
With the pair of wins, eighth-ranked GSU has won six in a row since losing to No. 1 Pepperdine. Georgia State is back in action Tuesday with the Panthers making the trip south to Macon to face Mercer at 4 p.m.
