BOONE, N.C. – After a dominating performance against rival Georgia Southern in the opening round of the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Tournament, Georgia State men's soccer will square off against top-seed Central Arkansas in Friday's semifinals at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

GSU, the reigning Sun Belt champion, will look to make it to the SBC Tournament finals for the fifth consecutive season and become the first team to win back-to-back conference titles since Coastal Carolina in 2016-17.

SCOUTING CENTRAL ARKANSAS
- Central Arkansas defeated Howard 4-1 in its regular season finale to capture the Sun Belt regular season title in its first year as a member of the conference.
- The Bears are led by Sun Belt Player of the Year Niklas Brodacki, who has 11 goals and three assists for 25 total points.
- Central Arkansas is ranked No. 6 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Association Southeast Region poll.
- Friday will be the fourth all-time meeting between Georgia State and Central Arkansas. The Bears own a 2-1 record in the series and won the most recent outing 2-0 on Nov. 2.

LAST TIME OUT
- Georgia State dominated rival Georgia Southern 4-0 in Wednesday's opening round of the SBC Tournament, its largest margin of victory over the Eagles since 2003 and the fifth consecutive season GSU defeated Georgia Southern in the SBC Tournament.
- GSU head coach Brett Surrency reached 100 career victories with Wednesday's win over Georgia Southern, becoming the second coach in program history to reach the century mark in career wins.
- Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year Aris Briggs scored twice in the win, the sixth time this season he has scored two or more goals in a single match.
- Matthew Fearnley scored his sixth goal of the year in the 61st minute, tying him for the sixth-most goals in the conference.
- Sophomore midfielder Tristan Jumeau netted his second goal of the season in the 79th minute. Jumeau is up to six total points, tied for the fifth-most on the team.
- Between the posts, Paul Tyson tallied his seventh shutout of the year, tying him for the single-season record for shutouts in school history. Tyson joins former GSU keeper Yannic Horn, who recorded seven clean sheets in 2016 and 2017.

QUICK HITS
- Georgia State opened the first nine matches of the season with a 6-0-3 record, surpassing the previous school record of seven games without a loss to start a season set in 1967.
- Junior forward Aris Briggs is having one of the most productive seasons in school history, as the Memphis, Tenn., native became the first Panther to score 16 goals in a single season, tying Tom Manget in 1972 for ninth all-time on the GSU list for goals scored in a season. Briggs currently ranks tied for third in goals scored among all players in NCAA Division I.
- GSU's Briggs, Matthew Fearnley and Frank Rosenwald all rank among the top 10 in the Sun Belt in total points. Each player has tallied 11 or more points this season.
