Early Goals Lead Men's Soccer to 4-1 Win at UAB

Senior Aris Briggs scores his NCAA-leading 5th goal of the year

Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Georgia State scored a pair of goals in the first 13 minutes of the game and added two more in the second half to earn a 4-1 win over UAB on Tuesday night at BBVA Field.

Georgia State (6-1, 1-1 Sun Belt) got on the board just 50 seconds into the match on senior Aris Briggs' NCAA-leading fifth goal of the season.

Junior Logan Luque added GSU's second goal of the night in the 13th minute via assists from sophomore Justin Guest and freshman Carlos Luna. It was Luque's second goal of the year.

Guest added his second goal of the year and the Panthers third goal of the match in the 68th minute from about 30 yards out.

Freshman Jeryn Hodge concluded the scoring with a coast-to-coast goal in the 73rd minute. It was Hodge's second goal of the year.

UAB (1-5, 0-0 C-USA) was playing its first home match of the year. The Blazers finally got on the board in the 83rd minute on a goal in the bottom left corner by Mason Robicheaux.

Senior goalkeeper Paul Tyson improved to 4-0 on the year after recording two saves on 14 shots faced.
