Fearnley, Proctor Goals Lead Men's Soccer to 2-0 Win Over Coastal

Box Score ATLANTA – Georgia State scored less than a minute into the game and held Coastal Carolina scoreless to earn a 2-0 win over the Chanticleers on Sunday afternoon at the GSU Soccer Complex.

Celebrating his 21st birthday, Matthew Fearnley got Georgia State (8-2, 3-2 Sun Belt) on the board just 44 seconds into the game with an assist from Justin Guest. Fearnley entered the day tied for the NCAA lead with two game-winning goals and added his third of the season while leading the Panthers to an eighth win.

George Proctor added a second Panther goal in the 30th minute and despite Coastal Carolina (4-1, 4-1 Sun Belt) taking more shots than Georgia State (14-8), none found the back of the net as senior Paul Tyson pitched his third shutout of the season.

Tyson and fellow senior Aris Briggs were honored before the game as a part of Senior Day festivities. Tyson finished with four saves while Briggs, who leads the country in goals and points, finished with two shots on goal.
