Georgia State Stumbles on the Road

Alex Leatu's squad drops first match of the weekend in the Sunshine State

GAINESVILLE, Fla.- Georgia State's women's tennis (2-6) fell to the University of Florida 7-0 Saturday afternoon on the road. This contest marked the second SEC opponent the Panthers have faced this season.

Eva Chivu/Andreea Stanescu fought hard on line one, but the Gators would win on courts two and three in quick fashion to secure the doubles point.

UF would keep their momentum going in singles play. The Gators would earn wins on courts one and six before clinching the match with a win on position five. Stanescu was outlasted after dropping a close first set to give UF their final point of the match.
Georgia State will be back in action tomorrow in the Sunshine State. The Panthers will travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to battle UNF. First serve is slated for 11:00 a.m.
