Georgia State Falls Short on the Road

What You Need to Know:
*The Panthers fell 4-2 on Friday afternoon, dropping the team to a 2-8 record on the season.
*Damira Muminovic and Andreea Stanescu earned Georgia State's two points. 
*The Panthers will open at home next Friday with a doubleheader. 

LYNCHBURG, Va.- Georgia State women's tennis was topped 4-2 by Liberty Friday afternoon in Lynchburg. The Panthers fall to 2-8 on the season while Liberty improves to 5-4. Andreea Stanescu and Damira Muminovic earned the two points for GSU.  
 
In doubles action, the Panthers and Flames would split action on lines one and three. With the doubles point on the line, Liberty would surge ahead with a 6-1 victory on court two.
 
The Flames would extend their lead to 3-0 in the match, winning in the number one and four slots. Stanescu put the Panthers on the board with a 6-3, 6-1 victory on court five. Muminovic would continue to close the gap, giving Georgia State a win on court two. GSU's comeback would fall short as the Flames would clinch the match with a straight set victory in position three. 
 
Georgia State will open home action next Friday with a doubleheader of local opponents. The Panthers will face Kennesaw State before battling Clark Atlanta. Follow @GSUWTennis on Instagram and Twitter for more news and notes from the courts.
