No. 18 GSU Prepares for Four CCSA Showdowns

Video: Meagan McCall and Olivia Stasevich recap Day of Duals and preview this upcoming weekend

ATLANTA- No. 18 Georgia State beach volleyball (7-4) heads to Gulf Shores, Ala., for a slate of four challenging CCSA matchups in the March to May tournament.

GSU will first have a rematch with No. 3 LSU at 11:00 a.m. ET. Last weekend the Panthers faced the Tigers in Baton Rouge, La. Despite playing close on each flight, LSU ultimately took the dual. Georgia State will conclude the first day of action, battling host UAB. GSU will look to improve upon their 6-3 overall record against the Blazers.

Georgia State will return to the sand the following day for a duo of top-20 matchups. First the Panthers will face No. 10 TCU in the morning meeting. Last season, GSU narrowly edged out the Horned Frogs during the Day of Duals. The Sandy Panthers will look for a repeat performance of grit and determination this year. GSU will conclude the weekend with a tilt against No. 20 Tulane. Georgia State holds an 8-2 edge in the two program's overall series.

The Sandy Panthers are coming off a trio of wins at the annual Day of Duals Wednesday in downtown Atlanta. GSU defeated Coastal Carolina 3-2, before blanking Chattanooga and Mercer in front of a home crowd. Eden Hawes and Maddy Delmonte led the charge with a trio of wins, while Bekah Brodbeck and Angel Ferary both registered their first wins of the 2021 campaign.

Live stats will not be available this weekend. Matches will be live streamed via Periscope on our Twitter feed. Follow along with Georgia State beach volleyball on Instagram and Twitter (@GSUBeachVB) for the latest news and updates from the sand.
