Georgia State Begins Seven-Match Homestand Friday

ATLANTA -- Georgia State women's tennis (2-12) returns to Georgia for a pair of Sun Belt Conference matches with Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State. Both contests will be hosted at Life Time Athletic in Peachtree Corners.

Last weekend the Panthers faced tough conference opponents in Troy and South Alabama. GSU first fell to Troy, 4-1, where captain Andreea Stanescu earned her seventh victory of the season to put the Panthers on the board. Sunday GSU could never get momentum going in their favor, as South Alabama earned the 4-0 sweep.

GSU will face both visiting squads for the second time this season. Georgia State will look to improve upon their first meeting with Coastal Carolina, where the Chanticleers emerged victorious with a 4-0 result. Overall Coastal Carolina holds a 9-3 record and is coming to Atlanta on a three-game winning streak. Friday's first serve is set for a 3:00 p.m. start time.

Alex Leatu will have a rematch with her best friend in head coach of Appalachian State. In the squads' first outing the Mountaineers edged out the Panthers 4-3 with GSU finding doubles success and singles victories from Maddy Frediani and Stanescu. Overall, Appalachian State has accumulated a 3-8 record. Saturday's first serve is slated for a 10:00 a.m. start.

Live stats will not be available during Saturday's contest, but will be available during Friday's meeting.
