ATLANTA - After collecting five wins last weekend at the NOLA Classic, No. 17 Georgia State will face four ranked opponents at the Gamecock Grand Slam at the University of South Carolina.
GSU will open the weekend's action Saturday with a pair of CCSA rematches. First, the Sandy Panthers will square-off against No. 2 Florida State at 9:00 a.m. The two squads last met at the Tiger Beach Classic where the Seminoles emerged victorious. Georgia State will finish the day with an afternoon tilt against No. 9 TCU. GSU will look to improve upon the two programs' last meeting, where the Panthers fell 4-1. First serve is slated for 3:00 p.m.
The ranked action will continue the following day when the Sandy Panthers face No. 16 Stetson and No. 15 South Caroline both for the first time this season. In the 3:00 p.m. meeting with Stetson, GSU will look to defeat the Hatters after being narrowly edged out by the program during last year's short season. Georgia State will cap off the weekend with a third CCSA contest in a 5:00 p.m. meeting against the host. During the schools' last outing in 2019, the Panthers defeated the Gamecocks 4-1 at the CCSA Championships.
Two pairs have hit the 10-win mark this season Maddy Delmonte and Eden Hawes (11) and Mattie Johnson and Olivia Stasevich (10). The Ferary sisters enter the weekend on a nine dual winning streak as a pair and were named this week's Georgia State Student-Athletes of the Week.
