Sassine’s Late Goal Lifts Men's Soccer to 2-1 Win Over Wofford

Box Score ATLANTA – Freshman Ethan Sassine scored with just 89 seconds to play to lift the Georgia State men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Wofford on Saturday night at the new GSU Soccer Complex.

Sassine scored his team leading fourth goal to break a 1-1 tie and give Georgia State (6-2) its third-straight win.

Wofford (3-4) struck first on Saturday night as Brandon Oddy scored his fifth goal of the season in the 23rd minute off an assist from Hugo Moldin.

However, just seven minutes later, senior Matthew Fearnley scored his second goal of the season to tie the match 1-1 and it stayed that way until the 88th minute. Ross Finnie assisted on the goal, his second assist of the year.

Gunther Rankenburg finished the night with five saves in goal.
