Panthers Fall to JMU in the Semifinals

Huntington, Wv- The Panthers competed in their sixth consecutive semifinal match Wednesday night falling to the James Madison Dukes, 5-0. The Panthers finish tonight 12-4-3 overall and 4-2-2 in the Sun Belt.

James Madison took control from the very beginning and never slowed down. Rattling off 8 shots to Georgia State's three in the first half and would go on to score one goal in the same half. Iolo Jones and Justin McLean shot the Panthers two shots on goal to attempt to put the Panthers on the board but would be saved by the Dukes.

In the second half JMU went on to score four more goals on the Panthers. Georgia State had multiple great attempts at the goal but could not put the ball in the back of the net. 

The Panthers had a total of seven shots two from Simon Carlson, Iolo Jones and Justin McLean and a solo shot from Max Wilkins
 
Gunther Rankenburg totaled four more saves in this match and ranks second in the Sun Belt for total saves with 70, just two shy of his season record of 72 last season.
