Beach Volleyball Set to Host Annual Day of Duals on Wednesday

ATLANTA- After opening the spring 2022 season with back-to-back tournaments on the road, the Georgia State beach volleyball team (5-4) will return to Atlanta to host the annual Day of Duals at the GSU Beach Volleyball Complex on Wednesday, March 9. The Sandy Panthers' slate of competition will include Coastal Carolina, Tusculum and in-state foe Mercer.

Having already faced five ranked opponents in its first two weekend outings, GSU enters this week's home tournament after posting a 3-2 record at the Horned Frog Challenge with victories over No. 16 Stetson, No. 18 South Carolina and Central Arkansas.

Yasmin Kuck and Kayla Whetstone came away from competition in Forth Worth with stellar performances highlighted by a win over No. 5 host TCU in the team's No. 2 flight. Finishing 4-1 in match play over the weekend, the pair was nominated for Conference USA Pair of the Week honors following the successful weekend as a duo.

Angel Ferary and Bella Ferary continue to post strong performances while partnering in match play as the sisters accounted for the Panthers' only victory against No. 3 FSU. The pair currently holds an 8-1 record thus far in the spring. 

GSU will kick off the tournament with a matchup against Coastal Carolina set to begin at 8 a.m. ET. The Panthers are unbeaten in meetings with Coastal Carolina since facing the school for the first time in 2020. The team will then battle Tusculum at 4 p.m. ET in what will mark the first ever meeting between the schools. In a quick turnaorund, GSU will close out the evening with a match against Mercer set for 6 p.m. ET. 

Admission will be free to fans and spectators, and live scoring will be available. Live streaming can be found on the team's social media accounts with more information to be posted on the day of the matches.
