Sandy Panthers Split Midweek Action at Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 15 Georgia State (9-4) split results during midweek action at Long Beach State University. GSU defeated No. 17 Grand Canyon (4-1) before falling to host No. 7 Long Beach State (4-1). The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for Beth Van Fleet's squad.

Competition Notes:

Angel Ferary and Bella Ferary defeated Grand Canyon's top pair, marking the duo's 84^th win in blue and white. The Georgia natives now boast the program record for most victories by a pair.
Lila Bordis and Aree Keller outlasted their opponents from Grand Canyon in a marathon dual. After falling 40-38 in the first set, the pair rebounded with 21-17, 18-16 victories in the second and third set to secure the GSU point.
The win over Grand Canyon marks the second win over the Antelopes in program history.
Michaela Jefferson and Aliisa Vuorinen earned GSU's lone point against Long Beach State. This marks the 3rd victory for the pair this season.
Kaylie Drysdale and Cassie Thayse recorded a 26-24, 21-12 win in the 6^th position against Long Beach State.

Georgia State will face four top-15 opponents over the course of two days.
The Sandy Panthers will first face No. 10 LMU at 2:00 p.m. ET on Friday. GSU fell short in the programs' outing last season.
Next, Georgia State will meet No. 13 Hawaii at 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
GSU will conclude California action Saturday. The Sandys will meet No. 6 California at 2:00 p.m. ET. This marks the first meeting between the two programs.
At 4:30 p.m. ET, GSU will face No. 2 UCLA. Georgia State will look to record their first win against the national powerhouse.
