Sandy Panthers to Return to Conference Play

 Huntsville, AL.- After a week of competition in California, which saw meetings with six top-20 programs, the No. 15 Georgia State beach volleyball team is set to return to conference play. Each Sun Belt Conference program will travel to Huntsville, Alabama to compete in mid-season SBC action. First serve is slated for Friday, March 22nd and will conclude on Saturday, March 23rd
 
GSU enters the weekend as the unanimous preseason favorite to win the 2024 Sun Belt Title, and are currently 2-0 in conference play so far this season. On Friday, the Sandy Panthers will face UNC-Wilmington Seahawks at 10:15 a.m. ET before meeting the Mercer Bears at 5:45 p.m. Georgia State and Mercer recently faced off during GSU's Day of Duals, this resulted in a 4-1 dual score and a victory for the Sandy Panthers. On Saturday, GSU will meet the Charleston Cougars at 10:15 a.m. before playing the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks at 2:00 p.m. The Sandys last faced Stephen F. Austin in the opening round of the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Championships, marking the first meeting against the Lumberjacks. Georgia State won 3-0 in route to earning the inaugural Sun Belt Conference title.
 
This tournament marks an opportunity for GSU's Bella Ferary to notch her 91st and 92nd wins. If Ferary is able to capture the two victories, she will be become the winningest player in GSU Beach Volleyball history.
