No. 16 Georgia State Tallies Three Wins Over Weekend

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 16 Georgia State (5-3) secured a 3-1 record over two days of action at the Seminole Beach Bash. After falling to host No. 4 Florida State to open the weekend, the Sandy Panthers went undefeated, collecting wins over No. 19 Tampa, No. 17 Stetson, and ULM. The meeting against the Warhawks marks the first Sun Belt match of the season. 
 
Tournament Notes: 
  • Savannah Ebarb and Destiny White led GSU, compiling four wins over the weekend playing in the fourth and fifth flight. 
  • The victory over No. 19 Tampa marks the second win over the Spartans this season. 
  • The Panthers now hold the slight 10-9 edge in all-time meetings against Stetson after Sunday's win.  
  • Canada native, Michaela Jefferson, made her debut in blue and white over the weekend.
Up Next: 
  • Beth Van Fleet's squad will host the annual Day of Duals tournament on March 6 at the GSU Beach Complex.
  • Georgia State will face Austin Peay at 9:00 a.m. before facing No. 15 FAU for the second time this season at 5:00 p.m. and in-state foe Mercer at 7:00 p.m. 
  • The Panthers are undefeated in all-time meetings against Austin Peay and Mercer.
  • GSU fell 4-1 to FAU in the season opener last weekend. Overall, the Panthers are 13-9 when facing the Owls.
