Box Score ROME, GA. - Georgia State advances to the semifinals in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, taking down Troy 4-1. Gabriele Datei clinched the match for the Panthers on court No. 4 with a 6-4, 7-5 victory.
The Panthers came out strong and took the 1-0 advantage after Gabriele Datei and partner Maxwell Weir clinched the doubles point 7-6(4) at the top doubles flight.
In singles play, Maxwell Weir was the first Panther to add a point for Georgia State, taking court No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-4 win. After dropping a match on court No. 2, Diogo Morais came back from a 5-2 second set deficit to win his match 6-3, 7-5.
With the Panthers needing one more point to clinch the match, sophomore Datei came through as he took court No. 4, 6-4, 7-5.
Georgia State looks to keep its winning streak going as they face #2 Old Dominion tomorrow at 2 p.m. E.T.
The semifinals match will be broadcast on ESPN+ and live stats will be provided by the conference.
