Georgia State SAAC Board Announced

ATLANTAGeorgia State Athletics is excited to announce the appointment of the 2024 Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) board, confirmed by the Georgia State Student Athlete Support Services on Friday.

"This year's SAAC Board is destined for greatness, as they each bring unique and insightful perspectives to the group," director of student-athlete development Valana Wiltz said. "I know their ideas will excite our athletics department and encourage other student-athletes to want to get involved." 

In a continuation of strong leadership, senior softball standout Jacey Goodwin will once again serve as the SAAC President for the 2024-25 academic year. Goodwin's reappointment underscores her exceptional commitment and contribution to the student-athlete community at Georgia State.

Women's soccer's Gabby West, a valued member of the 2023 SAAC board, has been promoted to the role of Vice President. Her elevation reflects her dedication and impactful work over the past year. Track standout and former SAAC board member Ronasche Fluker has also been elevated to the position of Secretary. 

Toni Eason will continue to excel in her role as Community Service Chair, maintaining her dedication to fostering community engagement and service among Georgia State's student-athletes.

Georgia State University Panther Athlete Support Services, supported by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, is committed to providing student-athletes with the tools and resources needed for comprehensive personal development and athletic success. The department engages in the NCAA's Leadership Development programming, which focuses on helping student-athletes take ownership of their academic, athletic, career, personal, and community responsibilities, while also addressing their evolving needs. The program promotes diversity and inclusion, assists in recognizing and applying transferable skills, and aims to strengthen educational partnerships between the NCAA, member institutions, and their communities. Additionally, it fosters an environment that supports effective use of campus resources and encourages the growth of character, integrity, and leadership skills.
