GREENVILLE, SC. - Georgia State defeated Furman 4-1 to improve to two wins on the season. The Panthers went 1-1 on their weekend on the road, falling 4-3 in a close match against Gardner-Webb.
Senior
Edward Tymes went 2-0 in singles on the weekend at line No. 2. Tymes also helped the Panthers win the doubles point against Gardner-Webb with a 6-4 win on court No. 2 alongside
Gabriele Datei.
Hugo Nossler won both of his singles matches on the weekend, as well as one doubles match against Gardner-Webb. The senior defeated Gardner-Webb 1-6, 6-2, 7-6(1) and Furman 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Freshman
Aryan Jit Singh played at the No. 3 singles line, taking a 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 win against Furman. The fourth and clinching point for the Panthers against Furman came from
Baran Soyler at line No. 1. Soyler clinched the match with a hard-fought 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-3 victory.
The Panthers take on Mercer next at home on Saturday, Feb. 22nd.
