ATLANTA - After a weekend off from competition, No. 20 Georgia State (6-5) will face four-ranked opponents over six contests at the FAU Beach Invitational. Action begins Friday morning and continues through Sunday afternoon in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Georgia State will first face UAB at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning before facing No. 15 Stetson at 3:00 p.m. GSU holds a 11-3 record over the Blazers. Meanwhile, GSU is 10-10 in contests against the Hatters. The Sandy Panthers will rest Saturday morning before facing FGCU and No. 13 FAU in the afternoon. Georgia State will look to rebound as the Panthers fell to both opponents in their respective previous meetings. Competition will conclude Sunday with meetings against No. 3 TCU and No. 4 USC. Georgia State last defeated the Horned Frogs during the 2022 NCAA Championships. GSU will look for their win in program history over USC.
Beth Van Fleet's squad enters the three-day event after securing a trio of victories at the GSU Day of Duals. This included two wins over Sun Belt rivals, Southern Miss and Mercer.
Danica Singleton and
Michaela Jefferson lead the Sandy Panthers in wins this season, primarily playing in the fourth position. The freshman and sophomore duo have secured eight victories for GSU highlighted by wins over No. 17 Washington, No. 13 FAU, and No. 8 Florida State.
Ayla Johnson and
Aree Keller have collected seven wins while competing as Georgia State's second pair. On the top court,
Destiny White and
Savannah Ebarb have also recorded seven victories.
