No. 18 Sandy Panthers Return to Downtown Atlanta

ATLANTA— No. 18-ranked Georgia State beach volleyball will host the annual GSU Diggin' Duals at the GSU Beach Volleyball Complex in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday, April 11-12. The two-day dual match tournament event will mark the second and final home outing for the Sandy Panthers in 2025. Head coach Beth Van Fleet and the team prepare to welcome North Alabama, No. 14 Stetson, Eastern Kentucky, and Sun Belt opponent, ULM.

The Sandy Panthers return to action after an off-week. Prior to the break in action, GSU competed in the Sun Belt Mid-Season Tournament in Foley, Ala. Georgia State compiled a 4-0 record over the two-day weekend. Notably, Danica Singleton and Michaela Jefferson, playing as Georgia State's third pair, went undefeated on the weekend en route to being named the Sun Belt Conference Pair of the Week.

This week the Sandys will open tournament play against North Alabama on Friday at 10:45 a.m. This will mark the first meeting between the two teams. GSU will close the first day of action against No. 14 Stetson. This is the second meeting between GSU and Stetson this season with the Sandy Panthers outlasting the Hatters, 3-2, in the first meeting.

The next morning GSU will face ULM at 8:30 a.m. Georgia State will look for continued success against the Sun Belt foe, as the Sandy Panthers have won eight consecutive meetings against the Warhawks. Next, GSU will face Eastern Kentucky. Georgia State won the only meeting between the two squads, 5-0, in 2019. Action will conclude with a second contest against North Alabama.

The program's graduates will be recognized prior to the contest against North Alabama on Saturday. The senior ceremony will take place on the beach courts at 4:00 p.m. Ayla Johnson, Destiny White, Courtney Smith, Aliisa Vuorinen, Aree Keller, Caroline Zimovan, Amanda Chambers, and Kaylie Drysdale will all be recognized.

All of Georgia State's matches will be streamed on ESPN+. Live stats will also be available throughout the weekend.
