No. 2 Seed GSU Ready for Conference Play; Six Panthers Earn Sun Belt Honors

ATLANTA- After finishing the regular season with an 18-16 record, the No. 18 Sandy Panthers travel to Foley, Ala., for the Sun Belt Conference Championship. Beth Van Fleet's squad will look to continue their reign as SBC Conference Champions, as the team secured the title in 2023 and 2024.

Prior to tournament play, the conference announced All-Conference honors. Aree Keller and Ayla Johnson, Savannah Ebarb and Destiny White, and Danica Singleton and Michaela Jefferson were recognized. Keller/Johnson and Ebarb/White were named to the All-Sun Belt Conference First Team. Jefferson/Singleton were tabbed to the Second Team.

Georgia State, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, will face Charleston in the opening round of competition Thursday morning at 1:00 p.m. ET. The tournament is double elimination. Therefore, GSU's next match will depend upon the results of the Charleston meeting. The Sandy Panthers enter the tournament with a 7-1 record in conference action only falling to No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina.

This season Michaela Jefferson and Danica Singleton, playing in positions No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5, have earned the most wins by a GSU pair with 20.
