ATLANTA-- Georgia State football hosts Murray State for Sell Out Saturday on Sept. 13 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Canter Parc Credit Union Stadium.
Georgia State and Murray State are meeting for the second time in program history. The Panthers are looking for their first win against the Racers after falling 48-24 in the first game at the Georgia Dome, a year after the establishment of Georgia State football.
Veteran transfer TJ Finely made his Georgia State debut when he started for the Panthers against Memphis on Sept. 6. Finely was added to the active roster after the Panthers' season opener.
Coach McGee and the Panthers' staff welcomed the largest recruiting class in program history, adding 29 to the early signing class, and 67 total newcomers.

Senior Wide receiver Ted Hurst earned 2025 SBC Preseason First-Team Offense, 2025 Phil Steele Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team, 2025 Freaks List by The Atlantic, 2025 HERO Sports G5 Preseason All-American and Preseason Biletnikoff Award Watch List honors following a standout 2024 season. Hurst was a 2024 All-Sun Belt Second-Team Offense and 2024 College Football Network All-Sun Belt Offense honoree.
Senior defensive tackle Henry Bryant earned SBC preseason Second Team Defense and 2025 Phil Steele Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team honors. Bryant was a 2024 All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention selection, and was named to the 2024 Athlon Sports Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team Defense.
2024 RECAP
In the Panthers' first season under head coach McGee during the 2024 season, Georgia State finished 3-9 (1-7 SBC) on the season, with wins over Chattanooga, Vanderbilt and Texas State.
The Panthers lead the Sun Belt and finished top 50 in the nation for fewest penalties per game (5.27).
Defensively, GSU finished the 2024 season ranking second in the conference and top 20 in the nation for fumbles recovered with eight. Henry Bryant led the Panthers and the Sun Belt with two fumble recoveries, finishing eighth in the nation.
THE QUARTERBACKS' ROOM
Georgia State enters the 2025 season with six quarterbacks in rotation, featuring returner Christian Veilleux, Tulane transfer TJ Finley and Texas Tech transfer Cameran Brown.
Transfer TJ Finley made his Georgia State Debut as the Panthers' starter in week two against Memphis. In his first game in blue and white, the 6-7 QB went 21-for-29 for 201 yards.
The veteran QB joined the Panthers' active roster after week one of the season.
Finely joined the Panthers from Western Kentucky, where he started in three games before being sidelined due to injury.
Transfer Cameran Brown continues to fight for the starting QB position for the Panthers. The redshirt junior completed one passing and one rushing touchdown, and went 8-for-12 for 139 yards, against Memphis (Sept. 6), marking his first two touchdowns of the season.
Veilleux, the Panthers starter in 2024, led the squad with 2,047 passing yards and 13 touchdowns in the air during the 2024 season. The senior QB threw a career-high three touchdown passes and recorded his first career rushing touchdown in the Panthers win over Vanderbilt on Sept. 14, 2024.
The Panthers also welcomed two freshmen quarterbacks to the squad in the off-season, including 6-2 TJ Stanley and Jadon Olaffson.

After two contests, the Panthers defense totals 138 tackles, 14 tackles for loss of 30 yards, two sacks and a forced fumble.
The Panthers rank fifth in the Sun Belt for tackles for loss (7.0).
Georgia State enters the 2025 season with a versatile mix of returners and newcomers on defense.
The Panthers return defensive stars Henry Bryant, Damaine Wilson, Josiah Robinson, Sir Mells and Ian Mathews, all of which make huge impacts on the 2024 season. .
Georgia State's defense finished the 2024 campaign ranking fifth in the Sun Belt and 38th in the nation with eight fumble recoveries.
The Panthers snagged nine interceptions throughout the 2024 season, good for ninth in the Sun Belt.

Georgia State ranks fourth in the Sun Belt and 26th in the nation for interceptions after snagging two in the season Opener at Ole Miss.
Chams Diagne picked off a 25-yarder in Ole Miss's second drive of the game, followed by an end zone INT from Jordan Huff late in the first quarter.
After hosting back-to -back home games, the Panthers hit the road to Nashville as they face Vanderbilt in game two of the home-and-home series.
