Men's Tennis Drops Battle with Tennessee Tech

ATLANTA — Georgia State Men's Tennis took to the courts at the GSU Clarkston Tennis Complex for their first outdoor action at home. The Panthers swept doubles to take a 1-0 lead and saw a war of attrition over singles points before eventually falling to visiting Tennessee Tech by a final score of 4-3.

In doubles play, the duo of Gustav Andersson and Sota Minami cruised to a 6-1 victory on court three. The Golden Eagles gave the hosts everything they could handle on the first two courts, but it was the pairings of Arthur Attrill and Gabriele Datei on one and Cem Atlamis and Aryan Jit Singh on two who secured the clean sweep and the doubles point for Georgia State.

Playing on his own, Andersson finished out an all-around day, defeating his counterpart from Tennessee Tech in straight sets for the Panthers' first singles point. The Golden Eagles gained ground quickly, tying the match up at 2-2 with singles wins on courts five and three.

After a three-set showdown on court four put Tennessee Tech on the edge of victory, it was Datei decisively winning a third-set tiebreaker, 7-1, to turn the final singles match into a winner-take-all. Playing from the second court, Atlamis pushed his counterpart to a third set but could not secure the crucial fourth point, falling by a score of 6-4.
