MOBILE, Ala. – The Georgia State women's track and field team turned in a strong showing at the 2026 Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships, highlighted by an individual conference title from senior hurdler Kayli Williams, and multiple podium finishes across the three-day meet in Mobile, Ala. 

Williams captured the Sun Belt championship in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a winning time of 13.41 in the preliminaries before securing the title with a finals mark of 14.02 to earn 10 points for the Panthers. 

Georgia State also received runner-up performances from senior distance runner Ana Cubillo and senior sprinter Kevell Byrd. Cubillo placed second in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:32.75, while Byrd finished second in the 400 meters after crossing in 52.81. 

Freshman distance runner Destinee Frink continued her standout season with a third-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase, clocking 10:38.24. Senior thrower Zayna Fray added another podium finish for the Panthers in the hammer throw with a mark of 64.33m (211-1). 

Additional top-five finishes came from Jayla Kennedy in the 100 meters, Keniya Walker in the 200 meters and Kaitlyn Jones in the 400-meter hurdles. Kennedy placed fourth in the 100 with an 11.50 prelim time and 14.07 finals mark, Walker took fourth in the 200 at 23.18, and Jones earned fifth in the 400 hurdles with a 59.70 performance. 

Georgia State also scored valuable relay points in the 4x100-meter relay as the quartet of Justein Whyte, Walker, Dania Staley and Kennedy finished sixth with a time of 45.20. 

With the end of the regular season, Kayli Willimas, Jayla Kennedy, Kevell. Byrd and Zayna Fray earn qualifying bids to the NCAA East Regionals.
