Georgia State University Athletics

Ansley Rice was elevated to the Associate Athletic Director of Communications at Georgia State University in July 2024, assuming oversight of communications efforts for all GSU athletic programs. In this leadership position, she is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications initiatives, social media management, media relations and digital storytelling across the university’s 16 NCAA Division I teams.

Prior to her promotion, Rice served as the Communications Manager at Georgia State from November 2023 to July 2024, where she was the primary media contact for the women's basketball, softball, track and court volleyball programs. 

Before joining the staff at Georgia State, Rice served as the Social Media and Marketing Manager for Rugby ATL, Atlanta’s former professional rugby team. In that role, she managed the organization’s digital presence, grew fan engagement and played a key role in promoting the team across multiple platforms.

A native of Dacula, Ga., Rice is a proud graduate of Kennesaw State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Emerging Media with a concentration in Journalism, and a minor in Leadership Studies. While at Kennesaw State, she gained valuable hands-on experience as an athletic communications intern, working closely with the softball, baseball, men's basketball and football teams. Her work as a student intern laid the foundation for her career in sports communications and ignited her passion for promoting collegiate athletics.

Rice is currently pursuing her master's degree in digital and social media, further strengthening her expertise in the evolving landscape of sports media and communication strategy.
