Corey Hendren joined the Georgia State men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in April 2026 under head coach Jon Cremins.
Hendren comes to Atlanta after serving as head coach at Tallahassee State College since 2023. In his first season, he led the Eagles to a 20–13 record and a berth in the state tournament, advancing with a win over Miami Dade before knocking off top-ranked Daytona State in the opening round. He followed that with a 15–15 campaign in year two, while continuing to develop talent and produce multiple transfers to four-year programs.
Prior to Tallahassee State, Hendren spent two seasons as associate head coach at UNC Pembroke, helping guide the Braves to a 53–8 record, two Conference Carolinas regular-season championships and consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. During his tenure, he coached six all-conference players, including the league’s Player and Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.
Hendren also spent four seasons as an assistant coach at USC Aiken, where the program posted four consecutive winning seasons and reached the NCAA Division II Tournament, finishing in the top 25 nationally in 2018–19. He began his head coaching career at USC Salkehatchie, leading the program to a then school-record 21 wins in 2016–17 and helping develop multiple players who advanced to four-year institutions.
A former player at Milligan University, Hendren appeared in 99 games and shot 37 percent from three-point range during his career. He graduated cum laude with a degree in business and sports management and later earned his master’s degree in sports administration and coaching from Bob Jones University.
Hendren is married to the former Carolina Morelli. The couple have a dog, Max.
