ATLANTA -- Georgia State fans delighted in beautiful weather, tailgating and great games Saturday on #PantherFamily Day as the football team hosted its Spring Game, the softball squad played a doubleheader, the baseball team played two, and men's soccer had a pair of scrimmages.
Starting off all of the action, the football team went through four quarters of running clock that ended in a 20-16 victory for the White squad. Redshirt-freshman quarterback Emiere Scaife led the offense by passing for three touchdowns, while Tarris Batiste had a pair of interceptions, including a 100-yard return for a touchdown.
On the softball diamond, the Panthers improved to 28-15 by sweeping Appalachian State. GSU came from behind in the sixth inning to win 2-1 in Game 1 and then blew Game 2 open late, earning a 10-2 win in six innings.
The baseball Panthers, who entered the weekend in first place, finished Friday's rain-delayed game with a 7-6 victory, and then won Game 2 5-3 to improve to 10-3 in the Sun Belt.
Rounding out the action, the men's soccer team hosted a pair of exhibitions against Thomas and North Georgia spliting the doubleheader.
