PANTHERSVILLE, Ga. — The Georgia State softball (7-3) team fell 9-1 in five innings to the visiting No. 24 Auburn Tigers (9-0) Wednesday night.

Georgia State's lone run came in the bottom of the first inning, when Jessica Clifton singled and advanced around the bases on three wild pitches by Auburn starter Jenee Loree.

Clifton had the only two hits for Georgia State in the game, the second coming in the third inning. Loree stimeed the Panthers at the plate, striking out nine.

Brooke Lathan had two-home runs and four RBI for the Tigers, who had a total of four long-balls on the evening. Lead-off hitter Morgan Estell went 3-for-3 and improved her average to .519 on the year.

GSU starter Alana Thomas surrendered six runs on seven hits in her 1.2 innings pitched. Kaitlyn Medlam went 3.0 innings in relief, giving up three runs and striking out four.
