ATLANTA-Georgia State could not overcome being called for 28 fouls and fell to UT Arlington 90-69 on Saturday afternoon at the GSU Sports Arena.

UT Arlington (15-7, 6-5 Sun Belt) snapped a four-game losing streak by making 28-of-35 free throws and knocking down 10 3-pointers. All five Maverick starters finished in double figures, led by Jorge Bilbao's double-double that included 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Georgia State (13-8, 6-6 Sun Belt) dropped just its third game at home since the start of the 2013-14 season, a stretch of 38 games.
Only one Panther, Markus Crider, fouled out, but three other Panthers finished the game with four fouls as only one starter was able to play more than 26 minutes.
Crider finished with seven points and six rebounds, picking up the 500th rebound of his career in the middle of the first half. He becomes just the 11th Panther to reach the milestone.
“We just got our butts kicked and Arlington played really well,” head coach Ron Hunter said. “It is one of those teams that we have a hard time matching up well with. Give them credit, they did everything well today and we didn't do anything right.”
Georgia State built an early 14-13 lead, making its first four baskets, before UT Arlington used a 14-0 run to take a 27-14 lead with 10:02 to play in the first half. The Mavericks held the Panthers without a field goal for more than five minutes before a Crider jumper ended the streak.
UT Arlington built 14 point leads twice in the opening 20 minutes and went into the locker room leading 47-38, despite the Panthers shooting 48 percent from the floor and 50 percent from 3-point range.
Georgia State cut the lead to just five, 52-47 early in the second half and appeared to be making a run. However, trailing by seven with 12:13 to play, the Mavericks used an 11-0 run to take a 69-51 lead and pushed the lead to as many as 21, 74-53, with 8:42 remaining.
The Panthers made one last attempt at a comeback with a 9-0 run and cut the lead to 74-62 before a 3-pointer by Drew Charles made it as close as GSU could get.
Erick Neal finished with 17 points for UT Arlington, while Charles added 16 and Kaelon Wilson scored 15.
The Mavericks held a 45-27 advantage on the boards and finished with 21 second chance points.
Georgia State will head to Alabama next week to face South Alabama on Thursday at 8 p.m., followed by a match-up with Troy on Feb. 13 at 5:15 p.m.
