ATLANTA - After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning Wednesday, Georgia State scored five unanswered runs on the way to a 6-4 win over Kennesaw State at the Bob Heck Softball Complex. The win marks seven straight for GSU in the series with the Owls.

The Owls got off to a hot start with three runs on three hits in the first frame, but Kinsley Jennings entered the circle in the top of the second and held the Owls to just one run on five hits over the final six innings. Jennings earned her sixth win of the season which is most on the GSU staff.

The Panther rally started with sophomore Remington Hasty's third home run of the season, a two-run shot to left field in the bottom of the second. That would be the first of five unanswered runs for the Panthers who took advantage of six KSU errors.

GSU pushed three runs across in the bottom of the fourth when the Owls committed four errors. The Panthers then added insurance in the bottom of the fifth as Kensey Caldwell reached second with her 47th career double, tying Danielle Roddy for second place in GUS history. Caldwell was bale to score with some heads up baserunning as the Owls committed another error. Caldwell's run made it a 6-3 ballgame and KSU threatened with a run in the top of the seventh, but Jennings induced a popout to end the game.

Georgia State is has a three-game Sun Belt series against Appalachian State at home this weekend. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Saturday followed by the finale on Sunday.
