Women's Basketball to Host Troy Saturday

The Panthers swept both games against Troy last season.

QUICK NOTES
•    Georgia State hosts Troy Saturday at 2 p.m. at the GSU Sports Arena.
•    The Panthers swept both games against the Trojans last season and lead the all-time series 26-12.
•    GSU fell to South Alabama at home on Thursday. The Jaguars shot 55% and made 11 3-pointers to win 81-64. Taylor Hosendove scored 22 points with 10 rebounds in the loss.
•    The Panthers were without veterans Jada Lewis and Allison Johnson on Thursday. Both were held out due to injuries.
•    Shaq Miller-McCray has 20 blocks over her last five games.
•    Shaq Miller-McCray leads the Sun Belt and ranks No. 15 in D-I with 45 blocked shots. The senior's 8.2 rebounds per game is third in the Sun Belt.
•    Taylor Hosendove continues to be dominant on the offensive boards, ranking 27th in the country and second in the Sun Belt with 4.0 offensive rebounds per game. She ranks second in the conference in total rebounds at 9.5 per game.
•    The win against NM State on Nov. 29 marked win No. 600 in GSU program history.
•    Jada Lewis was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team. Georgia State was picked sixth in the conference poll.
•    Only four Panthers that saw action last season return for the 2019-20 campaign. GSU welcomes 11 newcomers including six true freshmen.
•    Georgia State is coming off a historical 2018-19 season in which first-year head coach Gene Hill guided the Panthers to their winningest season since 2003-04 and first postseason appearance (WBI) since 2002-03.
•    Gene Hill's 17 wins last season were the most by a GSU coach in their first season since Joyce Patterson won 28 games as co-head coach in the 1980-81 season.
•    Georgia State made 185 3-point field goals last season to set a new GSU single-season record.
