Kalen Puckett Had Three Hits, Two RBI

ATLANTA -- Ryan Glass homered and Kalen Puckett had three hits and two RBI as Georgia State downed UNC Asheville 10-7 Wednesday at the GSU Baseball Complex.

The Panthers (9-7) have won four of their last five games as they head into Sun Belt Conference play this weekend.

With the game tied at 5-5, Glass led off the sixth inning with a shot down the left field line for his second homer of the season to give the Panthers the lead for good.

GSU added two more runs in the inning as Kyle Riesselmann scored on a wild pitch and Puckett singled and scored on a squeeze bun by Griffin Cheney. The Panthers' extended their lead to 10-5 on Dalton Davies' two-run single in the seventh.

Puckett, the junior second baseman, also delivered a two-out, two-run single in the second inning that tied the game at 4-4.

Freshman Duncan Lutz (1-0) earned his first victory with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit and striking out three. Another freshman, Camren Landry, recorded the final two outs for his first save.

The start of the game was delayed by a one-hour, 37-minute rain delay.
