QUICK NOTES
•   Georgia State continues Sun Belt play with a pair of home games against Appalachian State on ESPN+. The Panthers and Mountaineers will play at 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.
•   GSU has won three of its last four including a two-game sweep at Coastal Carolina last weekend in Conway. The lone loss in that stretch came in OT against Chattanooga on Dec. 21.
•   Georgia State trailed CCU in its last game on Jan. 16 by as many as 11 in the second half before closing the game on a 19-2 run to get the win.
Taniyah Worth scored a career-high 17 points in Friday's win before totaling 16 in Saturday's win.
•   Georgia State's defense ranks first in the Sun Belt and 15th in the country with 21.6 turnovers forced per game.
•   The Panthers lead the Sun Belt and are Top 50 in the country, making 8.1 3FG per game.
•   The Panthers were one of the youngest teams in D-I last season with six freshmen averaging at least 10 minutes per game. All six freshmen return this season.
•   GSU has five newcomers this season.
Taniyah Worth (Alabama) and
Hannah Sadler (Old Dominion) both sat out last year due to transfer rules.
Elexus Bell came to GSU from Southern Union State CC in Alabama,
Deasia Merrill joins GSU after sitting out last season at Kentucky, and
Ciara Smith is the lone freshman on the squad.

Taylor Hosendove led the team in scoring and rebounding last season and was named to the 2020-21 Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team.
•   Head coach
Gene Hill is in his third season at Georgia State. Hill was previously an assistant at N.C. State and was an assistant at Georgia Tech from 2009-12.
•   Four of GSU's top scorers from last season are back. Hosendove (11.4), Henderson (9.4),
Tehya Lyons (5.6), and
Moriah Taylor (4.9).
•   Of GSU's 14 players, 10 played their prep ball in the state of Georgia. Henderson and Taylor are both from Alabama,
Joelle Johnson is from Louisville, Ky., and Kam Dziak calls Amherst, Ohio home.
