Barley, Fugel Continue Stellar Freshman Seasons at Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Georgia State freshmen Bree Barley and Brooklynn Fugel each scored Sunday in GSU's 2-2 draw at Little Rock in the final road contest of the regular season.

Barley opened the scoring in the 35th minute with an impressive, curling shot from outside the box. It was her third goal of the year to give GSU a 1-0 lead.

The score remained 1-0 until Little Rock pulled even in the 81st. But, just moments later, Fugel tallied her team-leading seventh goal of the year off an assist from Maddie Johnston.

Fugel's seven goals is most in a season by a Panther since Suzanne Arafa scored nine in 2015.

The Trojans kept pushing and broke through again in the 89th to even the score at 2-2 and force overtime, GSU's sixth OT of the season.

The Panthers managed three shots in OT but Sunday's match would end in a draw.

Maria Subies totaled a career-high 10 saves in the contest.

The Panthers remain in fourth place in the Sun Belt standings with just one match remaining. Georgia State returns home to host rivals Georgia Southern Sunday at 1 p.m. The Eagles are one point ahead of GSU in third place.
