Women's Soccer Closes Regular Season with Senior Day Sunday

ATLANTA -- Georgia State women's soccer hosts rival Georgia Southern Sunday at 1 p.m. for the final match of the regular season.

The Panthers and Eagles are currently tied for third place in the Sun Belt standings, meaning Sunday's contest will determine each sides' seeding in the conference tournament Nov. 1-7 in Foley, Ala.

GSU has three straight draws and five draws in its last seven matches. Georgia Southern is coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to South Alabama on Friday night.

The Panthers and Eagles will be meeting for the 27th time Sunday. Georgia State leads the all-time series 14-8-4. The Panthers and Eagles battled to a 2-2 draw in the most recent meeting last season on Oct. 18 after GSU won 1-0 on Sept. 27.

Prior to Sunday's match the Panthers will honor seniors Maria Howell, Brisa Zavala, Lexie Knox, Meagan McInerney, Jocelyn Jones, Emily Burke, Grace Kiser and Jolie Ryff. The Senior Day ceremony will begin on the field approximately 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
