Softball to Face Owls in Midweek Contest

ATLANTA -- Georgia State travels north up I-75 to Kennesaw Wednesday to face the Kennesaw State Owls at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

The Panthers will look to sweep the season series against the Owls after the Panthers won the first meeting 7-3 on March 3 at the Bob Heck Softball Complex.

GSU used two big innings to earn the win in the first meeting. Sophie Mooney hit a three-run homer in the third to give GSU a 4-1 lead and Skylar Mosel hit another three-run bomb in the sixth to give GSU some insurance runs and a 7-3 lead.

Julia Allen allowed three hits over 5.1 innings for the win in the circle.

After hitting her team-leading ninth home run of the season on Sunday, Daisy Hess ranks third in the Sun Belt in both home runs per game and RBI per game. Baylee Sexton, who is tied for eighth most stolen bases in GSU history, ranks third in the Sun Belt with 15 steals on the year.
