Crosby's Two Goals Lead GSU to Hard-Earned Draw on the Road

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Gracen Crosby scored two goals Friday night at Furman to lead the Panthers to a 2-2 draw on the road in Greenville.

In the fourth meeting between GSU and Furman, Georgia State fell behind 2-0 after the Paladins scored in the 10th and 18th minutes.

Crosby, a sophomore from Spokane Valley, Wash., had one career goal entering Friday's match. In the 29th minute, Jolie Ryff collected a ball in the Furman box from a GSU corner and found an open Crosby who fired a rocket and beat the Paladin keeper in the top right of the net.

Furman led 2-1 at halftime, but Crosby evened things up in the 49th with a long distance goal off a free kick, sending her shot through traffic into the lower left of the goal past a diving Furman keeper.

Crosby's pair of goals made a three-way tie atop the GSU goal leader board with Grace Kiser and Brooklynn Fugel.

Georgia State and Furman traded attacks in the final minutes of regulation and neither team could find the winning goal in overtime. GSU moves to 4-2-1 with the draw.

Maria Subies made a career-high eight saves in goal, facing a career-high 21 shots. The Panthers tallied 19 shots with Furman's keeper finishing with six saves.

Georgia State returns home to host Presbyterian College Sunday at 6 p.m. Admission to the new GSU Soccer Facility is free.
