THE TIPOFF: Georgia State hits the road for the first time this season as the Panthers travel to Northeastern (1-6) for a 2 p.m. game Sunday at Matthews Arena.

> The Panthers (5-3) have won three of their last four games, including Thursday's 79-53 win over Middle Georgia State.

> Sophomore guard Dwon Odom is the Panthers' leading scorer with 17.1 ppg, second-leading rebounder at 6.1 pg and leader in assists at 3.3 pg. The No. 6 scorer in the Sun Belt Conference, Odom has reached 20 points four times, including a career-high 27 in the win over UNC Asheville and 24 vs. Belmont.

> Sophomore forward Ja'Heim Hudson averages 11.4 points and leads GSU in rebounding (8.8/4th in Sun Belt), field goal percentage (.537) and blocks (11).

> In the win over Middle Georgia, Jamaine Mann led the Panthers with a double-double, including a career-high 19 points along with 10 rebounds. Brenden Tucker added a season-high 17 points, and Ja'Heim Hudson grabbed a career-best 11 boards.

HELLO AGAIN: Former conference foes Georgia State and Northeastern are meeting for the second straight year in non-conference play. The Huskies lead 10-7, but Georgia State has won three of the last four.

> Last November at the GSU Sports Arena, the Panthers earned an 83-64 win over the Huskies, behind 25 points from Corey Allen and 22 by Justin Roberts. Among current Panthers, Ja'Heim Hudson started and had seven points and four rebounds. 

> The teams met annually in the CAA from 2005-06 through 2012-13.

> GSU is just 2-6 at NU's Matthews Arena, but the Panthers won the last meeting there, 78-73 on Jan. 30, 2013.

> Playing at the College of Charleston the last three years, guard Brenden Tucker has faced Northeastern six times. After playing sparingly his freshman year, he averaged 15 points in four games vs. the Huskies over the last two seasons.

OH MANN: Sophomore Jamaine Mann has averaged 18 points and nine rebounds over the last two games.

> After contributing 17 points and eight rebounds in the two-point loss to Belmont, Mann followed with a career-high 19 points against Middle Georgia, along with 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.

WELCOME BACK: Georgia State welcomed starting guards Brenden Tucker and Evan Johnson back after both missed three straight games. 

> In their return against Middle Georgia, the duo combined for 31 points. Tucker a season-high 17 points and six rebounds, while Johnson contributed 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and five assists.

CHARITY CASE: Georgia State ranks No. 2 in the Sun Belt and No. 27 in D-1 in free throw shooting at 77.2 percent.

> Individually, Dwon Odom leads the Sun Belt in free throws made. He is No. 4 in the Sun Belt at 88.1 percent (37-for-42).

STEPPING IN: With injuries juggling the lineup, two Panthers have stepped in and stepped up.

> Sophomore Danny Stubbs, who played only 18 minutes all of last season, is averaging 6.0 points while playing about 24 minutes a game. He scored a career-high 16 points in the win over UNC Asheville, including 6-of-7 free throws in the final minute to help seal the win, and then added 11 points vs. Belmont and 10 vs. Middle Georgia.

> Kalik Brooks, the former walk-on who was awarded a scholarship prior to the season, has started three games and is averaging 4.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals. He averaged 9.3 points in the three-game Capitol Classic, including a career-high 12 points vs. UNC Asheville. 

CLOSE CALLS: Georgia State's three losses have been by a total of five points. The Panthers fell 62-61 to Eastern Kentucky on a half-court, buzzer-beater and 59-57 to Georgia Tech on a basket with four seconds left. In Sunday's 68-66 loss to Belmont, GSU had the ball with a chance to tie the game or take the lead in the final seconds.
