Panthers Play at No. 15 Georgia Wednesday at 6 p.m. on SECN+

ATLANTA -- Facing its fourth game in eight days against a nationally-ranked Southeastern Conference foe, the Georgia State softball team travels to No. 15 Georgia Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game at Turner Softball Stadium in Athens. The game will be televised on SECN+.

Sun Belt Conference home run leader Bailee Richardson paces the Panthers' offense. The junior infielder is hitting .375 with six homers and 19 RBI. She leads the conference in homers, RBI per game (1.06) and total bases (44).

Catcher Carolyn Deady is hitting .297 with three homers and nine RBI.

Under first-year head coach Angie Nicholson, Georgia State (7-11) has been aggressive on the basepaths, ranking No. 15 in the nation (second in Sun Belt) with 2.81 stolen bases per game. Daisy Hess and Emily Brown lead the way with eight stole bases each.

Six different pitchers have started in the circle for the Panthers, led by Emily Buck with a 4-4 record and a 2.41 ERA in nine starts.

Georgia is 19-2 on the season, including 13 straight wins.

The Panthers hosted No. 21 Auburn last week and then faced No. 4 Florida twice over the weekend at the Bubly Invitational in Gainesville.

Georgia State is seeking its first win over Georgia since back-to-back victories against the Bulldogs in 2013 and 2014.

After Wednesday's game, Georgia State will jump into Sun Belt Conference play this weekend at league favorite Louisiana, beginning Friday.
