Foos Leads Panthers' Defensive Effort in Sun Belt Opener

Mobile, Ala.— Opening Sun Belt Conference competition on the road facing South Alabama, the Georgia State women's soccer team played the Jaguars to a draw, 0-0, on Sunday as goalkeeper Jaddah Foos helped lead the Panthers' defensive effort with five saves.

Having already faced 92 shots this season goalkeeping for the Panthers, the junior has recorded 35 saves on the year while competing for 90 minutes in all but one match for GSU. Foos played the first 45' in the Panthers' 3-0 win over Clayton State to open the season before resting in the second half.

Foos tallied a 100th career save in the Panthers' 1-0 victory facing Presbyterian on Sept. 8. The goalkeeper currently sits at ninth all-time in saves for the Panthers' women's soccer program.

GSU attempted only two shots for the match in Mobile while USA attempted nine shots in total. Junior forward Maddie Johnston charted both of the team's shots on Sunday and currently ranks second on the team in shots for the year with 14.

Johnston is tied for the team high in goals this season with a total of three.
