ATLANTA, GA --   Freshman Akira Burt collected nine kills but the Georgia State volleyball team fell to Southern Miss in three sets, 13-25, 21-25, 14-25, Saturday at the GSU Sports Arena..

Seniors Amanda Albertini and Erin Wyatt were honored before the match for Senior Day.

Burt finished with a hitting percentage of .438 on the day, while Albertini added eight kills. The Panthers got 13 digs from Livy Kowalkowski to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Panthers dropped a tough first set 25-13 in which Southern Miss grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 in a set that was tied up six times before the Lady Eagles took control.

SET 2 | A 25-21 set-two loss put Georgia State in a 2-0 hole in the match. The Panthers dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 12 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.

SET 3 | Georgia State dropped the third set 25-14.
