MONROE, LA --Aaliyah Mitchell and Erin Wyatt each notched double-doubles and Livy Kowalkowski recorded a career-high 30 digs, but the Georgia State volleyball team dropped a 5-set match at ULM (25-23, 13-25, 19-25, 25-21, 11-15) in Friday's regular-season finale.
The match was delayed almost five hours and moved to the campus Activity Center after the court at Fant Ewing Coliseum was unplayable due to a leak.
The Panthers (5-22, 2-14 Sun Belt) were led by Mitchell, who had 11 kills and 21 digs, and Wyatt, who had 17 kills and 17 digs. Akira Burt added 10 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Livy Kowalkowski chipped in for with 30 digs to go with three blocks from Burt. Bella Ferary, the beach volleyball standout who joined the court program last month, had her best game with 23 assists and 17 digs, both career highs.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers opened up an early one set to none lead, winning a nail-biter first set 25-23. Georgia State grabbed the advantage for good at 21-20 in a set that had just one lead change before the Panthers took over in the second half of the stanza. Georgia State also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Georgia State then lost the second set 25-13, evening things at a set each.
SET 3 | A set-three loss put Georgia State down two sets to one. The Panthers lost a tough set 25-19. Georgia State trailed by as many as six points as UL Monroe grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was tied up nine times before the Warhawks took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 4 | Georgia State rebounded to force a fifth set with a 25-21 victory in set number four. The Panthers took the lead for good at 7-6 in a set that had just one lead change before GSU took over the lead.
SET 5 | Georgia State couldn't complete the comeback, dropping the fifth set 15-11.
