ATLANTA - Georgia State (1-5) fell 10-1 to Georgia Tech (3-2) in the home opener after five innings.
Bailee Richardson scored the only run with her first homerun of the season.
In the first three innings both teams had runners in scoring position but could not capitalize. The Yellow Jackets almost scored in the top of the third, Vukadinovich singled to left field with a runner in scoring position.

Carolyn Deady who tagged the runner out at home to end the inning. The score would stay a couple of goose eggs.
The Yellow Jackets scored two runs in the fourth off two homeruns. Richardson answered with a homerun of her own, her first of the 2023 season, to score the lone run for the Panthers.
Things escalated quickly in the fifth inning when Georgia Tech went on to score eight more runs, a grandslam contributing to the score. The Panthers couldn't make a come back in the bottom of the fifth.
Emily Hodnett (0-3) took the loss having pitched four innings with three strikeouts and only allowing one walk.
Kate Kastelic took the mound in the fifth to help secure the last out of the inning after Doolittle and Adams went out with injuries.
The Panthers will be back at the Bob Heck Softball Complex this Friday for the first day of the Bob Heck Classic. Georgia State will take on Eastern Kentucky at 3:00 p.m. ET.
