ALABAMA – Georgia State (13-19, 2-4 Sun Belt ) fell to Jacksonville State(20-9, 6-0 ASUN), 3-1, in the midweek matchup in Alabama.
The Panthers struck first as
Emily Brown was walked and advanced to second after a fielders choice.
Bailee Richardson came up to the plate and grounded to left field for an RBI double to score Brown.
The Gamecocks got on the board in the third after hitting two RBI doubles. They extended the lead by two after a batter was walked, stole second and scored on a SAC fly. 3-1 would be the ending score.
The Panthers got close to scoring in the sixth with runners on second and third but could not capitalize.
Elle Doolittle pitched all six innings letting up five hits resulting in three runs to fall 6-4 on the season.
Georgia State will travel to Huntington, West Virginia to face the Sun Belt Conference leaders, Marshall Herd. The first game is set for Friday at 1:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
