Panthers Fall to No.18 Bulldogs, 7-2

Box Score ATHENS -- The Georgia State softball team fell at No. 18-ranked Georgia 7-2 Wednesday at Jack Turner Stadium.

The Bulldogs took the lead early with four runs in the first inning including a three-run home run, and added one more in the second.
 
The Panthers had strong fourth inning when Emily Brown and Ashton Schroyer chopped for infield singles to get on base. Chloe Nadler walked to load the bases and bring Bailee Richardson up to bat. Richardson delivered an RBI-single to score Brown, and Schroyer came home on a error to pull the Panthers within 5-2.
 
Georgia added  back-to-back home runs in the sixth to extend the lead 7-2. 
 
The Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday, March 15 at the Bob Heck Softball Complex as they take on Western Carolina in a Doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
