Box Score MIDTOWN – Georgia State fell to Georgia Tech in a Tuesday evening matchup in Midtown Atlanta, 6-1.
Emily Brown and
Chloe Middlebrooks started the Panthers off right in the 1
st inning. Brown had the first base hit and Middlebrooks had an amazing diving catch in foul territory for the first out of the inning.
Georgia Tech took a 6-0 lead in the second inning after scoring on a rbi single, a throwing error and a grand slam. The Panthers defense held the Yellow Jackets the rest of the game.
The Panthers would answer late in the game with a rbi double by
Ashton Schroyer that would score Brown after she earned a base hit. The senior center fielder went two for three on the night and scored one run.
Hallie Adams (4-9) threw two innings striking out two batters but letting up three hits and walking two giving her the loss.
The Panthers will be back in action this weekend as they travel to the mountains to take on App State in a conference weekend series.
